Kilo Code is an open-source AI coding agent for planning, editing, debugging, and working across software projects. Developers should restrict permissions, review diffs and commands, protect secrets, run tests and security checks, and control model and infrastructure spend.

Start with a limited, reversible test using only authorized and necessary inputs. Configure privacy, age or audience settings, access, quality, export, and spending controls; compare output with original sources and representative examples; correct errors; and keep a responsible person in control before publishing, purchasing, submitting, deploying code, or making consequential decisions.

The extension and source code are free. Users pay applicable model or provider usage, while optional hosted or enterprise services may have separate pricing.

AI output and automation can be inaccurate, biased, incomplete, unsafe, stale, or misleading, while services may process confidential, copyrighted, personal, biometric, health, financial, educational, or adult data.
